Hello, and welcome. I'm Makayla Leake, M.Ed., and I am passionate about helping children, adolescents, and adults navigate life's challenges while discovering their strengths and capacity for growth.

I believe that healing begins in a space where you feel safe, understood, and supported. My approach to therapy is trauma-informed, strengths-based, and solution-focused. I work collaboratively with clients to help them better understand themselves, develop effective coping skills, process difficult experiences, and build confidence in their ability to move forward.

My goal is to create a welcoming and nonjudgmental environment where you feel empowered to explore your experiences, identify meaningful goals, and make lasting changes that support your overall well-being.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Kennesaw State University and my Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Augusta University. Throughout my clinical experience, I have worked with individuals facing trauma, abuse, life transitions, emotional regulation difficulties, relationship challenges, and a variety of personal stressors.

Who I Work With

I enjoy working with adolescents, young adults, and adults who may be struggling with:

  • Trauma and the impact of adverse life experiences
  • Anxiety, stress, and feeling overwhelmed
  • Emotional regulation challenges
  • Relationship and interpersonal difficulties
  • Self-esteem and identity concerns
  • Academic, career, and life transitions
  • Family conflict and communication challenges
  • Healing from abuse, neglect, or exploitation

I am especially passionate about helping individuals understand how past experiences, family dynamics, and generational patterns can shape current thoughts, emotions, and relationships. Together, we can explore these influences, build resilience, develop healthy coping strategies, and create meaningful change.

Whether you are facing a specific challenge or simply seeking greater self-awareness and personal growth, I am committed to meeting you where you are and supporting you on your journey toward healing and wellness.
