Sunrise Counseling host Masters Level Counseling Interns who offer low cost therapy. Our Therapy Interns are dedicated and compassionate individuals who are in the final stages of completing a Master’s degree in Social Work or Counseling. Under the supervision of experienced professionals, they bring fresh perspectives and enthusiasm to their practice, blending academic knowledge with hands-on experience.

Therapy Interns are trained in various therapeutic techniques and are committed to providing supportive, empathetic care to clients. As part of their internship, they work with individuals, families, and groups to address a wide range of issues, including mental health, family dynamics, and personal development. Our interns are passionate about making a positive impact and are an integral part of our team, offering quality care while gaining invaluable experience in the field.

Hi, I’m Layla Seifden, a master’s level social work intern from Simmons University with a deep passion for helping children, families and individuals find healing and connection. I’ve had the privilege of working closely with neurodivergent children–supporting them in discovering their strengths, building communication skills and developing confidence in who they are.

While much of my experience has been with children, I also love working with families, teens and adults who are navigating life transitions–whether complications with relationships and friendships, or exploring their identity. Asking for help is hard, but I believe in meeting each person where they are and honoring the parts of them that have impacted them today. Each person has a unique story, culture and pace of healing, and my approach serves to welcome all of those beautiful things in a warm, collaborative and empathetic way.

Rooted in curiosity and hope, our work together revolves around YOU and YOUR goals. You are seen and cared for. I am here to walk alongside you as you heal.
