Master’s Level Social Worker/Therapist (MSW)
Currently Offering In-Person and Virtual Therapy Sessions
Navigating the challenges of childhood and adolescence can be difficult for both young people and their families. Are you worried about your child’s mood, behavior, or academic performance? Is your teen struggling with social pressures, anxiety, or self-esteem? Do you feel like communication within your family or relationships has broken down? Or perhaps it’s time to prioritize your own mental and emotional health.
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming. You might be wondering if therapy is the right choice for your child, your family, or yourself, or you might have concerns about the stigma associated with seeking mental health support. While the process can be daunting, it can also be one of the most rewarding decisions you make.
As a dedicated therapist with 7.5 years of experience working within the school system, I offer compassionate and effective support to children, adolescents, adults, and their families. My background in the school setting has provided me with a unique understanding of the pressures young people face today, from academic stress and peer relationships to navigating social media and developing a strong sense of self. I create a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where clients of all ages can explore their challenges, develop coping strategies, and build resilience.
- Anxiety and Depression: Helping individuals manage worries, sadness, and low motivation.
- ADHD and Executive Functioning: Developing strategies for focus, organization, and time management.
- Behavioral Issues: Addressing defiance, impulsivity, and difficulties with self-regulation.
- Social Skills Development: Building confidence and improving interpersonal relationships.
- Trauma and PTSD: Providing a safe space for healing and recovery from traumatic experiences.
- Family Conflict and Changes: Improving communication and strengthening family bonds.
- Academic Stress and School Refusal: Supporting students in overcoming academic challenges and returning to school.
- Grief and Loss: Coping with painful life changes.
I believe in creating a warm, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where clients can feel comfortable exploring their challenges and developing the skills they need to thrive. With young clients, I work collaboratively with their families to develop personalized plans that address everyone’s unique needs and goals.
If you’re ready to explore the possibility of therapy, I encourage you to reach out. I am here to answer your questions and help you determine if my services are the right fit for you and/or your family. Together, we can work toward meaningful growth and healing.
I am currently working under the supervision of Christine Burrell Townsend, LCSW, ACSW.
